The Procrastinators Guide to Last Minute Gift Ideas

by Jason on December 18, 2009

It’s one week before Christmas.

Do you know where your gifts are?

I motion to make the week before Christmas the official start for the procrastinators shopping season!

I can’t believe the holidays are upon us.  It’s easy to get swept up in the day-to-day and forget to get the gifts for those who mean the most to us.

Have you procrastinated on your shopping this year?

If that’s you – and you  know who you are –  I’m here to help.

3 Things For the Procrastinator to Keep in Mind

  1. Get started now! Especially if you are buying gifts online – there’s still time, but c’mon – get going!
  2. Get it wrapped!  Hey – if you don’t have time to shop, you don’t have time to wrap – have someone else do it.
  3. Get a nice card!  Spend your time writing some nice words to your loved one and let the card do the talking this Christmas.

Here are a few places to get you started – from the comfort of your office chair – as you begin scrambling for some last minute gift ideas!

Why Give Gifts?

I’ve heard some talk about going frugal and not giving gifts this year.  This might be a good idea for many of you.  Here’s why I like to give gifts at Christmas:

  • It’s in my nature.  I enjoy giving gifts to people.  I think it’s the part of the way I show kindness and love to others.
  • It’s in God’s nature. God gave the ultimate gift – Jesus Christ.  It’s the real reason why we celebrate Christmas – let’s not forget that this year.  Some 2000 years ago, God sent His Son, Jesus, to come to earth as a child, live a perfect life, and bear the punishment that we deserved.  What a gift!!
