Slackerjo - You convicted me! I went out and bought a Seagate NAS drive to back up my docs! I had a back up system before, but got away from it and when I tried to use it again, it didn't work - that prompted me to get the Seagate!

Excellent post. Every business requires strong financial understanding in order to ensure smooth functioning and consistent growth. As I don't know much about this topic, I started reading Small Capital's business tips. Getting such practical business advice helped turn my business around.

I used to do tech support for business internet accounts and it's super important to have redundancy.I am always shocked how ill prepared customers are when things break.

No network is perfect. Mother nature break stuff. People run into poles with their cars. Work crews dig before calling and cut a line. It happens all the time. If you rely on your internet for work or to process credit cards, you need to have a back up plan if your internet goes down. Have a back up dial up connection and make sure it works before you have an outage. Also, don't cheap out and use a residential internet service to run your business. Business accounts get a higher priority for repairs.

Also, back up everything on your computer and make sure you have a backup computer in case your main computer breaks. These are not expensive things and they will save you money and aggravation in the end!

Great tips. Having started our company only a short while ago, I'm happy to say we did these things. Small business owners should always look for an experienced mentor to guide them along. As for the profit margin, well, if you can't make money, then you're not going to last. We started out small and have built, and I think that's the best and safest way to go. Thanks for the read!
