  • is on Active Duty Military status and earns AGI of $57,000 or less.

If you meet the qualifications above and live in one of the states listed below, you may qualify for a free state tax filing.  AL, AR, AZ, GA, IA, ID, IN, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, NY, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SC, VA, VT, WV.  If your state is not listed, you can still file your state taxes for $14.95.

If you’re willing to fill out your state taxes by hand and mail in the tax forms, you don’t have to pay anything more than the cost of a stamp.  If you used a free federal tax service to complete your federal tax return, you shouldn’t have any problems transferring most of the information over to your state tax forms.
