Saving Money Without Sacrifice

We all want to save money, but we don’t want to give up the things we love. In this article, we will show you some ways you can painlessly save money. In most cases, we aren’t asking you to sacrifice much, but instead to use smart planning to focus on buying what you actually want and need.

Plan Ahead for Vacations – We aren’t going to tell you that you can’t take that dream trip to Europe. If you have the funds and are in good fiscal shape, go! You only get to live once, after all. But if you do decide to take that dream vacation, try to plan ahead as much as possible. Booking flights and hotels six months in advance, instead of one month, can save a lot of cash.

Buy Only What You Eat – Eat steak. Enjoy lobster. Indulge on French chocolates. As long as you can afford it, that’s fine. Many people, however, throw away huge amounts of money by throwing away huge amounts of food. In fact, the average American throws away nearly half of their food, and that means they’re essentially throwing cash in the trashcan. So when you go to the store, only buy food you know you’ll eat.

Shop around for Any “Plans” – It doesn’t matter if you are talking about your auto insurance plan, cell phone plan, cable TV plan, or anything else. Finding the right plan that fits your needs is a great way to save money. A lot of people get expensive cell phone plans but do little more than send a few texts. And why have a thousand TV stations when you only watch ten? We won’t tell you to give up anything you use, but cut away the fat that you aren’t using!

Make Your Own “Whatever” – It doesn’t matter if it’s coffee, a bagel, snacks, or anything else, many of the little things we buy during our daily living really adds up in terms of costs. You can save hundreds of dollars a year by brewing your own coffee or bringing a can of coke from home rather than buying it from a vending machine.
